A Mission Worth Standing For

Our Story
Three local Black women—Dr. Terri Richardson, Thelma Craig, and Cerise Hunt—organized a “Family Reunion” with over 200 members of Denver’s Black community in 2008. Their goal was to engage in an open discussion about the health of the Black community.
The theme of the reunion embodied a quest for solutions and an action-oriented approach. Following that initial event, the community remained committed to improving health outcomes for Black residents from cradle to grave. This commitment led to the birth of the Colorado Black Health Collaborative (CBHC).
Since that significant event, the CBHC has continued to empower the Black community to advocate for their health needs by providing the resources and tools essential for maintaining optimal health and well-being.
